The Four S’s of High-Quality Custom-made Furniture
As every interior designer knows, high-quality furniture is more than finding the right colour for the area you’re trying to furnish. In fact, a lot of thought goes into the creation of a high-quality piece because a custom-made piece requires precision from start to finish.
This precision can be broken down into four key categories--structure, size, style and stamina. These are the categories that we like to call The Four S’s.

Let’s start with the first two S’s:
Structure and Size
Because custom-made furniture starts from scratch, structure and size looks at the frame selection for your client’s piece. You want to know that the frame is high-quality and you also want to know that the size is right for the space you’re designing.
So, when you look at structure, you want to look at who is making the frame and you want to know what kind of wood is being used to make it.
Does the manufacturer make their own frame or do they outsource? And if they do outsource, who are they outsourcing to?
No matter what, the right manufacturer will want the best quality for you and your clients. Whether that means making their own frames or outsourcing, it should be clear that they’re offering you the best option possible.

Next we have the third S:
Style
Style looks at the piece itself (sofa, love seat, wing chair, etc.), as well as the material and fabric selection.High-quality custom-made furniture takes everything into consideration. From how the fabric design and colour looks to how it feels and how it fits into the space being furnished, looking at style will allow you to provide your client with information on what will get them quality comfort and quality aesthetics.
Stamina
To go along with style and fabric selection, this fourth S is arguably the most important one, even though it’s last.Stamina refers to the durability of the fabric you choose.
We all know that as time goes on, certain materials can wear and tear, so you want to be mindful of who will be using the furniture, how often it will be used and how long it will last.
Stamina is also why you want to make sure you have high-quality materials from the start of your custom-made piece to the end of it.
Between these four S’s and the right manufacturer, you’re guaranteed to have high-quality custom-made furniture for your clients every time.
